Weekly Wiki

Greetings

This is Frank in Seeed Studio and welcome to the Seeed Studio weekly wiki! Each Monday, I will introduce you our latest wiki, including the ones related to our new products, the interesting projects published by Seeed Studio, and the tutorials, introductions, etc... You name it.

✨ For each week, when a collaborator contributes a project or fixes something important, we put the stars at the end of title of "Weekly Wiki" for more people be able to see their efforts👍.

Today is December 23th, and a brand new week has begun! Check out what Seeed Studio did last week!

How to Update Jetson Orin Nano Developer Kit to Super Kit

The NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano™ Super Developer Kit is a compact, yet powerful computer that redefines generative AI for small edge devices. It delivers up to 67 TOPS of AI performance—a 1.7X improvement over its predecessor—to seamlessly run the most popular generative AI models, like vision transformers, large language models, vision-language models, and more. Existing Jetson Orin Nano Developer Kit users can experience this performance boost with just a software upgrade, so everyone can now unlock new possibilities with generative AI.

Connect and Transfer- FTP on Your Raspberry Pi 4G LTE HAT

FTP is useful for Raspberry Pi 4G LTE HAT applications, enabling reliable file transfers between embedded systems and remote servers. It simplifies managing logs, configurations, or data files in IoT and M2M communication setups. With its compatibility and straightforward commands, FTP ensures efficient integration for connected projects.

Setting Up 4G LTE Connectivity for IIoT with MQTT

The 4G LTE HAT for Raspberry Pi provides reliable, high-speed cellular connectivity, making it essential for remote and industrial IoT (IIoT) applications. With MQTT, a lightweight messaging protocol, devices can communicate efficiently over cellular networks, even in isolated locations. Using AT commands for configuration, it simplifies the process of connecting IoT devices to the network. This combination of 4G LTE and MQTT enhances real-time data transmission, enabling scalable IIoT solutions with remote management capabilities.

Flash open source firmware to M2 Gateway

The SenseCAP M2 gateways represent a cost-effective solution for LoRa gateways, powered by the mature hardware solution MT7628 and the Semtech SX1302 baseband Long Range chip. The specific models are distinguished by the factory-set frequency band (EU868/US915/AS923/AU915), optional module (4G/GPS) and supported LoRa network (LoRaWAN®/Helium network)

This wiki will guide you on how to burn open source firmware for your M2 gateway. Based on the open source firmware, you can deeply customise your M2 gateway, such as adding additional features or changing the operating band (antennas need to be adapted to the band)

A DIY 4-layer sandwich Meshtastic kit

pir

A full-featured meshtastic node is developed based on XIAO ESP32S3 & Wio-SX1262 Kit. This 4-layer sandwich structure like meshtastic kit takes the xiao expansion board as its foundation. Through the grove interface and pin to pin interface, it supports a variety of expandable modules that are supported by meshtastic firmware. It also supports the I2C communication protocol, including controllable ambient lighting, telemetry sensors, ambient sensors, and GPS modules. It can be easily set up for modular design and function application via meshtastic communication technology. Moreover, it can be connected to an external 3.7V battery through the JST battery connector to realize a mobile node.

RS485 transmission of Vision AI V2 data

This guide will show you how to transfer recognition data from Vision AI V2 via RS485. By using RS485, you can efficiently transmit data over long distances.

4G LTE HAT on Raspberry Pi- TCP/IP Networking Explained

pir

TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) is vital for applications involving the Raspberry Pi 4G HAT because it ensures reliable, ordered, and error-checked data transmission over the internet. This is crucial for real-time applications like IoT devices, where consistent communication with cloud servers or remote systems is needed. TCP’s reliability makes it ideal for sending critical data (e.g., sensor readings, telemetry) and receiving commands, ensuring no data is lost or corrupted. It supports diverse applications such as remote monitoring, messaging systems, and file transfers with the Raspberry Pi acting as a gateway or client.
